The Heaven and Hell Caves, 25 kilometers away from Silifke, are actually two big pits that collapsed when the underground waters melted the limestones. A ladder with 452 steps is used to descend into the heavenly depression.
On the 300th step, you can see the Church of the Virgin Mary. At the south end of the collapse is the Temple of Zeus. You should definitely see the temple when you have descended so many steps. When you leave the Heavenly Rift and go 75 meters north, Hell’s Ripe greets you. It is not possible to go down into the depression, but there is a terrace that you can see from above.
